The European Association for History Educators (EUROCLIO) is the current HoN of the Dutch Network. The mission of EUROCLIO is to support the development of Responsible and Innovative History and Citizenship Education by promoting Critical Thinking, Mutual Respect, Peace, Stability and Democracy.
EUROCLIO was founded in 1992 and has 63 Full Member Associations of History and Citizenship Educators from 46 countries and 15 Associated Members from 12 countries.
EUROCLIO's target group consists of all those involved in history education: teachers, trainee teachers, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook authors, assessment experts, advisers, inspectors, educational publishers, educational decision makers and scholars. It has a special focus on peer learning and peer review.
The office of EUROCLIO is based in The Hague in the Netherlands. The EUROCLIO Secretariat is a team of active, young and committed employees supported by an international Board and volunteer history educators on the national level.
To date, the Dutch Network is composed of 109 members.
