MYF, the first youth foundation oriented to Mediterranean countries, that has been established in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2018. It is led by youth and aims to serve youth, by involving them in social life, especially youth who have less access to opportunities to promote their participation in building youth-friendly societies.
In addition, MYF is the first Egyptian foundation to win King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals, Youth Empowerment Category for 2020.It has also been awarded the United Nations and BMW Prize for Innovation and Intercultural Dialogue (Intercultural Innovation Hub - IIH) 2021.
Moreover, it has been accredited as a permanent observer member, to be the second Egyptian foundation in history to obtain permanent membership in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2022 and the Foundation has also been granted special advisory membership in the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in 2023.
*Important stations in the journey of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation:
2018: Establishment of Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development
2019: Obtaining the quality label from the European Union as a sending and hosting foundation to send/host volunteers to and from European Union countries.
2020: Obtaining the King Hamad Award (King of the Kingdom of Bahrain) for youth empowerment to achieve the sustainable development goals - the youth empowerment category.
2021: Obtaining the United Nations and BMW Prize for Innovation and Intercultural Dialogue (Intercultural Innovation Hub - IIH) 2021.
2022: Accreditation as a permanent observer member, to be the second Egyptian foundation in history to obtain permanent membership in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change UNFCCC
2023: Granted special advisory membership in the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
We strive for the Mediterranean Youth Foundation to be the largest green sustainable international youth organization that has representation in the countries overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the neighboring ones; In the areas of youth empowerment of both genders as well as intercultural and intergenerational dialogue.
Promoting cultural and youth cooperation between countries overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the neighboring ones through cultural exchange programs; With the aim of empowerment, communication and peace building.
- Promoting a culture of intercultural dialogue and cultural pluralism among the Mediterranean and neighboring countries.

We are stick to work with Anna Lindh Network in the following : 1- Youth Empowerment and Social Development: we can provide expert analysis on issues of youth, as we have expertise in the field of youth studies, how can institutions involve youth in social life and decision-making process, how can youth participation work on international development, and how to design tools, techniques, training programs, sessions, workshops, and dialogue sessions that work on youth development. As well, we can raise awareness of relevant issues to social development, advance United Nations goals and objectives, and contribute with essential information at Anna Lindh Network events. 2- Status of Women: we are committed to the gender equality issue, as we provide a set of programs that aware youth of the issues related to gender equality such as end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere, eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls, ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life. Also, our members and volunteers are divided equally, 50% women and 50% men, and we provide content through our social media platforms and our website in the masculine and feminine form. As we have experts in gender equality, we can provide analyses, writings, commentaries, and researches that can contribute to enhancing the work of the Commission on the Status of Women. Besides, we can raise awareness of gender quality goal and targets and make questionnaires in the Mediterranean region and present it to the Commission on the Status of Women. 3- Sustainable Development: Mediterranean Youth Foundation contributes to achieving and promoting the fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, tenth, thirteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth SDGs. We have the experience that can help us in providing the Network with analyses about how to promote and support the SDGs in the Mediterranean, recommend policies youth-related programs that can strengthen the role of civil society in achieving the SDGs, and make partnerships with other NGOs in supporting the SDGs. We can make social media campaigns that aware youth of the SDGs, play a major role in advancing United Nations goals.
We, at MYF, believe in the importance and necessity of partnerships. Thus, we do want to join ALF Network to partner with stakeholders whose work is related to the field of youth or within the borders of the EuroMediterranean and exchange good practices.
