Key findings of the Anna Lindh/Gallup Opinion Poll include:

• 42% of people in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean have friends in Europe

• 63% of the Europeans had never visited any country in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean

• 64% of Europeans and 76% of people from Southern and Eastern Mediterranean did not have any contact with persons from the other group countries over the past year

• 62% of Europeans compared to 45% only of people in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean believe they have commonalities with other group countries

• 64% of Europeans prefer to raise their children based on family solidarity and respect of other cultures, while 59% of people from Southern and Eastern Mediterranean prefer to raise their children based on religious beliefs and obedience

• 79% of Europeans and 69% of people from Southern and Eastern Mediterranean believe that the Media did not positively improve the image of the other group countries
