Teacher Training

Supporting students to acquire knowledge about all religions and cultural traditions that have shaped the region as crossroads of civilizations

In the field of education the Anna Lindh Foundation established in May 2006 a teacher training programme in collaboration with ALESCO and the Council of Europe. The main aim of the programme has been to provide teachers across the Euro-Mediterranean region with the pedagogical skills and materials on cultural and religious diversity, sustainable development, education for human rights and democratic citizenship.

In collaboration with regional partners, the Foundation has developed through its programme for teacher training new resources and tools to support teachers in acquiring attitudes and competencies enabling them to promote dialogue within a multicultural, diverse society. The resources presented in this section have been used in workshops on themes of intercultural education, inter-religious dialogue and cultural diversity.
