Based in Cairo, DNB was established in 2003 to promote cultural understanding, diversity and active youth participation. They work for fighting xenophobia, racism, and discrimination and promotion of citizenship and youth development. The main scope of DNB work focuses on social, cultural and voluntary activities through non-formal education means.
DNB addresses different problems of youth and encourages young people from different cultures to think together about the common challenges and interest of youth in the Euro-Med Region.
Inspired by DNB vision, came the idea of Youth Development Centre (YDC) to provide youth with capacity building activities such as cultural salons, hosting international volunteers, organisation of intercultural nights and international youth exchanges.
Among DNB projects:
Peace Bag for Euro-Med Youth: This long- term project of 18 organisations from 14 countries in the EuroMed region aims to mainstream peace education and intercultural dialogue in youth work. This training guide aims to help youths understand how peace and intercultural dialogue is related to the day-to-day work of young people.
Training course on Active Citizenship: This initiative of DNB tackles issues related to political awareness, mutual understanding and respect, active participation of youth, human rights education, etc.
Young Women, Our Future: this project was organized in the framework of the celebration of the Year of the Egyptian Young Women to raise awareness about the crucial role of young women in the local community development.
