Bokra for Media Production, Media Studies and Human Rights

Founded in March 2010 by a group of young Egyptians, Bokra for Media Production, Media Studies and Human Rights works in the field of media, human rights and democracy promotion. Bokra seeks to advance the work in the areas of information, civil society development and human rights as well as to contribute effectively to the change in the society using media as a tool for political and social change in Egypt. By overcoming the gap between individual and public interests, Bokra works hard to promote active youth participation in the political life and the democratic transition in Egypt in particular using nongovernmental media as a tool. Also, Bokra strives to promote Free Media in Egypt without any political, social, or religious biases.

Among Bokra’s activities in the field of promotion of democracy, freedom of expression and active youth participation:

An online news website www.bokranews.comyouth (mainly) to express their opinions and share their views about the political, social, cultural, etc. changes taking place in post-Revolution Egypt.

An online radio www.radiobokra.com with programs that interview active youth in the political and human rights fields.

A New Generation of Media Professionals project for young media practitioners and students on professional media for change.
