Third Edition 2008

In 2008, the Presidency of the Jury selected the theme of Dialogue Through Arts. The particular field of art chosen was visual arts which includes the following disciplines: drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture.

The Winner of the III edition is Rima Maroun , Lebanese photographer for her photographic project Les Murmures. Rima was bestowed the trophy at the Awarding Ceremony organized in the framework of the First Meeting of the Advisory Council, held at Fondazione Mediterraneo Headquarters in Naples, 27 September 2008. In addition, an exhibition of Les Murmures was held at Fondazione Mediterraneo Headquarters (27 September – 27 October 2008).

Rima was also invited to give a presentation of her work to the Heads of the ALF National Networks during their annual meeting in Nice, 29 November 2008. On 2 March 2009, the Hungarian Head of Network, Museum of Trade and Hospitality organized an exhibition Les Murmures in Budapest. The exhibition opening was made by the H.E. Mr. Charbel Stephan, Lebanese Ambassador in Budapest and attended by the Ambassadors of Algeria, Palestine, Qatar and others.

In March 2010, Rima Maroun was invited to the Anna Lindh Forum 2010 in Barcelona and was a keynote speaker in the plenary session entitled “Bridging the Gap in Mutual Perceptions: the Anna Lindh Report on Intercultural Trends” in partnership with TV5 Monde, Al Arabiya and TV3. She also participated as a speaker in the session entitled “Engaging Children and Youth for Human Rights” organised by Article 12 in Scotland.
