Friends of the Earth Middle East (FoEME)

FoEME is a unique organization that brings together Jordanian, Palestinian, and Israeli environmentalists. Its primary objective is the promotion of cooperative efforts to protect shared environmental heritage. It seeks to advance both sustainable regional development and the creation of necessary conditions for lasting peace in the region. FoEME has offices in Amman, Bethlehem, and Tel-Aviv, and is a member of Friends of the Earth International, the largest grassroots environmental organization in the world. Read more

Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE)

Established in 1990 in Athens, MIO-ECSDE is a Federation of Mediterranean non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) for Environment and Development, acting as a technical and political platform for the intervention of NGOs in the Mediterranean scene. In co-operation with, Intergovernmental and other International Organisations, governments and socio-economic partners, MIO-ECSDE plays an active role in the development of policies, the protection of the environment and the promotion of the sustainable development of the Mediterranean countries and of the region as a whole. Nikos Chrysogelos

Nikos Chrysogelos is an active Greek citizen in sustainable development, public and youth participation, intercultural dialogue and education for sustainability issues. His achievements range from organisation of international youth meetings to the realisation of exhibitions and videos on environment and ecological sustainability through intercultural dialogue. He is dedicated to promoting ecological and social sustainability, intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, respect of human rights, youth and citizens participation in decision making, good neighbour relationships in East Mediterranean and fair cooperation in the framework of Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Regional Environmental Center (REC)

Established in 1990 and based in Szentendre, Hungary, the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) is a non-profit international organisation with field offices in 16 European countries and Turkey. REC actively participates in key global, regional and local processes and contributes to environmental and sustainability solutions within and beyond its country office network, transferring transitional knowledge and experience to countries and regions. REC’s main areas of work include: strengthening institutions for sustainable development, capacity building of stakeholders and assisting partnerships, sustainable management and use of natural resources, integration of environmental concerns into the relevant sectors (such as energy, transport, health, etc.). The Islamic Culture Foundation (FUNCI)

The Islamic Culture Foundation (FUNCI), created in 1982, is a Spanish non-profit, scientific and cultural NGO, entered in the Spanish Ministry of Culture’s Register for the protection of Cultural Foundations. The Foundation’s work is based on an open, universal view of culture, in which dialogue, solidarity and tolerance play an essential role. Its main objectives are to promote EURO-Islam dialogue and to help find solutions to our society’s difficulties for establishing intercultural communication. Read more
