Organisations from the two shores of the Mediterranean join forces in using online media as a tool to tackle issues of cultural diversity and cross-cultural relations
Alexandria: Between the 5th and 11th of July an international training course has taken place in Madrid as part of the ‘Euro-Med Radio Initiative’ supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation and coordinated by the Italian organization “Circolo Culturale Africa”.
Together with representatives of civil society groups working in Italy, Israel, Morocco and Spain, the training seminar – entitled “Creating Virtual Bridges in the Mediterranean” – focuses on introducing the Euro-Med Radio resource to partners, with discussions and technical training around web-radio and radio programming on intercultural issues.
The project aims at development of a Mediterranean network of web-radio and video production focused on programmes that employ an intercultural approach and treat subjects of relevance to the topic of cultural diversity, in particular the topic of migration.
The programmes are being be produced in different languages, Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Italian and broadcast on the project webradio and portal, and the outcomes and videos of the training are being be uploaded on the partners website and will form the basis for preparing the next phase of the programme, that will include the creation of video and radio material to be broadcasted online across the Region.
