Vercihan Ziflioğlu, the Turkish journalist and winner of the Anna Lindh Foundation Journalist Award in 2007, has recently been honored for her exceptional journalistic writings.
Ziflioğlu won the "Successful Journalists of 2008" awards by the Contemporary Journalists Association for her article "An artist's mind cannot be restrained" published in the Turkish Daily News. The article is about Sergei Parajanov, the world famous Armenian film director and artist, widely regarded as one of the 20th century's greatest masters of cinema.
In 2007, Vercihan Ziflioğlu received the Anna Lindh Foundation's Journalist Award for Cultural Dialogue for her series of articles entitled "Arts and Dialogue in Turkey". She receives the award during a prestigious awarding ceremony that was organised in Athens, in the framework of the Euromed Ministerial Conference on Culture.
