Today an international seminar on "Media and Dialogue in the Mediterranean" will start in Seville at the initiative of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation and the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The two days seminar will be inaugurated by Andreu Claret, Executive Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation and Elvira Saint-Gerons Herrera, Director of Fundación Tres Culturas.
During the seminar, the Anna Lindh Foundation will present some of the findings of its annual report which was conducted this year on the role of the media in shaping perceptions in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
In addition, the Anna Lindh Foundation will present its journalist award, an annual award open for journalists nationals of one of the 43 member countries of the Union for the Mediterranean. The five categories of the Award includes printed press; radio; television; online media and a special award on cultural heritage.
The meeting will also discuss a number of issues including "Journalism and cultural survey in the Mediterranean," “The vision of Western and Arab conflict through the media," "Society, culture and religion through the media," "Culture of blogs and cultural journals," "Islam and the radicalization process of media" and "Women in the Arab and Western media".
