First edition tackles historic social changes in the Euro-Mediterranean region and their implications for cross-cultural relations.

The Anna Lindh Foundation has launched the First Edition of the Anna Lindh Digest (www.annalindhdigest.org), a new intercultural resource including a selection of links about Intercultural Affairs and a Media Review focused on Euromed civil society and Institutions. The Digest regularly enriches the analysis presented in the Anna Lindh Report, a pioneering scientific study on cross-cultural relations which was launched by the Foundation in September 2010.

Speaking about the Foundation’s new initiative, the Executive Director Andreu Claret said: “The overarching aim of the Anna Lindh Digest is to be a tool for knowledge and action for the Anna Lindh National Network Members and civil society groups, institutions, journalists, researchers and the general public at large interested in better understanding the challenges of intercultural dialogue in our societies.”

In this very First edition, the Digest highlights the main news published on the historical changes occurring in the Mediterranean landscape following the popular uprisings which took place recently in Egypt and Tunisia, and on the impact they will have in reshaping the Euro-Mediterranean relations. In addition and taking into consideration the crucial role played by Arab Youth in the recent events, a special dossier is dedicated to the theme Youth, Citizenship and Social Media, including in a number of in-depth analysis, opinion pieces and academic papers collected from a wide range of international media and Research Institutions.

The Anna Lindh Digest will be produced on a regular basis to provide up to date news about the Euro-Mediterranean region, in-depth articles, contextual information and expert analysis on issues and fields which are relevant for intercultural dialogue and for the Anna Lindh Foundation, such as culture, education, cities and diversity, migration, religious dialogue, human rights, sustainable development, human mobility, peace and coexistence and media.
