An international Conference on the theme ‘Migrations in the Euro-Mediterranean Region through Human Rights Perspective’ will take place on 9 December 2010 in the Slovenian Capital Ljubljana.
The conference will deal with migration phenomena through human rights perspective in the Euro-Mediterranean region, with an aim to address the main issues that impact development cooperation in the region.
International participants will learn more about a number of issues related to Migration in the region, among which the challenges faced by civil society organisations during their work in the field of migration; the role of individuals, organizations and/or institutions in this field and how they can increase the cooperation in Euro-Mediterranean region; the contribution of civil society for a better awareness about migrant issues in Euro-Mediterranean region; and the extent to which volunteerism could have an impact while addressing these issues.
The conference is organized within a project, called Mediterraneum United, which is co-financed by Anna Lindh Foundation in the framework of its Call for Proposals, and was created with an objective to develop and concretize long-term cooperation between civil society actors from various Euro-Mediterranean regions involved in educational and voluntary activities related to migration phenomena.
