On 19 January, a press conference will be held in Tunis in order to launch the new radio cooperation programme "The waves for the Mediterranean". The radio initiative is one of the long-term project granted by the Anna Lindh Foundation in the framework of its Call for Proposal and organised by COPEAM, member of the Anna Lindh Italian Network.
This new project aims at developing, strengthening and perpetuating Euro-Mediterranean-oriented radio co-productions and at supporting mobility for young professionals in the sector.
The program, that will be unrolled over 20 months, brings together six partners: the Tunisian Radio as project leader, Radio France (France Bleu Frequenza Mora), ENRS (Algeria), SNRT (Morocco), ESAV (Superior School of Visual Arts in Marrakech - Morocco) and COPEAM.
On the one hand, the contents’ support will be targeting the development of Kantara radio program and two radio series to be realized in co-production by members of COPEAM Radio Commission on shared subjects promoting dialogue in the region.
On the other hand, the actions towards radio professionals and the support to journalists producers’ mobility will be achieved through the organization of eight training/co-production workshops hosted by the partners aiming at exchanging different work experiences and defining common operational methods.
Such results is a reflection of the partners’ work and willingness to support a shared and valuable Mediterranean radio sector thanks to the efforts of COPEAM Radio Commission members and of its Presidency (Radio France / France Bleu Frequenza Mora) which acted as executive producer for the first two Mediterranean co-productions (Portraits of Footballers, The Mythical harbours of the Mediterranean) and Kantara.
