The International 2011 Acharif Al Idrissi Prize was awarded, on Saturday in Palermo (Italy) to André Azoulay, Advisor to HM King Mohammed VI and the Chairman of Anna Lindh Foundation.
The distinction, awarded by the Italian region of Sicilia, celebrates renowned figures from the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean for their contributions to promote Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation.
The Prize, which bears the name of a Moroccan geographer who led an expedition in 1138 to Palermo, was awarded on May 14 in Sicilia's capital.
