The Anna Lindh Foundation and the Fondazione Mediterraneo have launched the fourth edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Award for the Dialogue between Cultures on the theme of ‘Intercultural Dialogue for Peace and Co-existence’.

The Award, which is bestowed and voted on by the members of the Anna Lindh Foundation’s networks of civil society present in the 43 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean countries, focuses in 2009 on candidates who have contributed to non-violent resolution of conflicts and creating spaces of coexistence between different communities.

The theme for this year has been chosen in light of the consequences of the Gaza War and the economic crisis on civil society and intercultural relations in the Euro-Mediterranean space, and is presented in the framework of ‘Restore Trust, Rebuild Bridges’ which was launched by the Anna Lindh Foundation and UN Alliance of Civilizations.

The selection of the winner of the Euro-Med Award is a participatory process which involves Heads and members of the Anna Lindh National Networks, with the winner of the Award receiving a trophy in a prestigious bestowing ceremony and participating in a number of National Network events.

Deadline for nomination is May 31, 2009 and for more information you can click here
