10th -11th October 2009: Members of the Anna Lindh Foundation’s Advisory Council, including members from the Middle East, Europe and Turkey, were convened to their third meeting by the President of the Foundation, André Azoulay, in order to be presented an overview of the past years activities and initiatives and to present their comments to the strategic guidelines for the coming year.
The activities presented by A. Azoulay and A. Claret, Executive Director were judged in line with the strategic agenda of the Foundation and received strong support from the members.
During the meeting and discussions, Advisory Council members also discussed aspects related to the new advocacy role of the Foundation and the need for it to be interlinked with civil societies and partners who shared the same vision and commitment for the future of Union for the Mediterranean.
President Azoulay reinforced this shared position by stating that he considers the Anna Lindh Foundation “as a key player to keep alive the momentum and the values of the Union of the Mediterranean specially when addressing the human dimension of the union and the building, through cultures and dialogue, of the premises for a common destiny”.
Welcoming the Anna Lindh Civil Society Forum to be held in Barcelona next March, 4-5-6 the Advisory Board fully agreed on joining the debates and allow creating spaces for exchanges of information, knowledge and experience and to contribute transmitting its outcomes and recommendations to all levels of decision.
