Due to the ongoing situation in Egypt where the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) has its headquarters, and due to the closing of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Swedish Institute where the Foundation’s premises are located, the ALF has put in place a number of measures to ensure the security of staff and ongoing communication with its 43 National Civil Society Network, ALF beneficiaries and key stakeholders from the ALF Headquarters in Alexandria.

• Implementing a policy of voluntary evacuation for international staff to their countries of origin, with the ALF headquarters facilitating logistical matters. Egyptian staff members of the ALF are being contacted on a daily basis concerning safety and security concerns
• Putting in place a provisional working structure and communication policy to support ongoing contact with all the ALF bodies (Board of Governors, Advisory Council and Heads of National Civil Society Networks). The structure is being implemented: through online communication; through an ALF international focal point hosted in the premises of the Spanish ALF Head of Network (IEMed) in Barcelona; and with ALF team based in Alexandria
• Finalising the contracts of the intercultural dialogue projects selected in the framework of the ALF’s Call for Proposals on 'Migration and Diversity, and Peace and Coexistence'. The grant beneficiaries are being contacted in order to commence implementation of the projects
• Putting in place a permanent policy of communication with the President of the ALF, the Chairperson of the ALF Board of Governors, the European Commission, the governments of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, the Egyptian authorities, the Egyptian Head of National Network, in order to follow closely the development of events in Egypt and, in particular, Alexandria to be in an informed position for decision-making
