Heads of Network Online Survey Report

Background

As part of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network Strategy (2010 – 2011), the Foundation decided to launch two simultaneous online surveys: one targeting the Heads of Network (HoN) and the other targeting the Network members across the 43 Euro-Med countries. The survey for the Heads of Network was launched on 15 October and the deadline on 25 October (extended for one day only upon the request of some HoN). The survey was launched on the website of the Anna Lindh Foundation and the HoN filled in the survey after logging in with their special username and password.

Objectives

As outlined in the introduction to the survey, the Foundation is conducting this survey to get an overview of the status and concerns of the Network Coordinators and members alike. It will also help the Headquarters to improve the coordination with the Heads of Network as well as members. Finally, it is a very useful resource information for the 8th HoN Meeting in Gothenburg and the Anna Lindh Forum in Barcelona 2010.

Who participated

After 12 days, 32 Heads of Network filled in the online survey, which are (in descending order of who filled the survey first: Israel, Czech Republic, Spain, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Latvia, Slovenia, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Egypt, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Montenegro, Poland, Netherlands, Albania, Ireland, Denmark, Morocco, Slovak Republic, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Greece, United Kingdom, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Tunisia and France.

The 11 countries which did not complete the survey are: Algeria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Jordan, Mauritania, Monaco, Palestine, Romania, Syria, and Turkey.

Format and Structure

The survey is composed of 26 questions in total. All of the questions are mandatory except for questions (25) and (26). The survey is divided into 4 main parts:

a) General Information (6 questions)
b) Coordination and Mobilization of the Networks (6 questions)
c) Anna Lindh Foundation Programmes (6 questions)
d) Network Performance and Future Developments (8 questions)
