The National Trust of Slovakia

The NGO National Trust is the Head of the Slovakian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation. The mission of the NGO National Trust of Slovakia is to secure the permanent protection of national heritage sites, valuable historical objects and sites of natural beauty and their preservation for the benefit of Slovakia and its people. Beyond that, the National Trust organizes exchange programs, works in the on-site reconstruction of historic objects and publishes OKNO ("window") – a magazine about historic environment.

Since January 2003, The National Trust of Slovakia is the seat of the Secretariat of the European Network of National Heritage Organizations. As a member of both the International National Trust Organization and a domestic platform of heritage NGOs called DOMOVINA – "homeland" - the National Trust is an ultimate connecting point between national and international heritage organizations.

To date, the Slovak network includes 27 organizations. Most of these institutions work in the areas of heritage, arts, youth, gender studies, education and research.
