Black Sea University Foundation

The Black Sea University Foundation is the Head of the Romanian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation. The activity of the Black Sea University Foundation tries to respond to urgent needs of the region - with a focus on peace strengthening, conflict prevention, governance improvement and the restructuring of economies. Its objective is to strengthen the academic community and civil society primarily in the Black Sea zone: the Foundation has created the National Center for Sustainable Development, the Conflict Prevention Studies Center as well as the Black Sea University Network.

We are interested in subjects of special interest for the region such as Sustainable Development, Economic Sciences and Management, Ecology and environmental protection, Advanced Sciences – Applied Sciences, International Relations, Conflict Prevention and Negotiations, Crisis and Risk Study, Innovative Higher Education, Human rights and democracy, tolerance and the capacity to work in joint projects, good neighborliness and regional partnership, poverty alleviation, gender equity, identifying values and models of minorities and promoting intercultural dialogue.

The Foundation provides logistical and operational support to the National Network in Romania through the Network Strategic Development Scheme (NSDS). For more information, please refer to the document “NSDS Step 4” under Resources column on the right. This document highlights the main responsibilities and services to be provided by the Network Coordinator for the members until 31 August 2011.

The Romanian network consists of 22 organizations. These institutions work in the areas of education, youth, environmental protection and heritage. Projects developed cover areas such as inclusion  and acceptance in  an multicultural environment, social responsibility, youth, education, environmental protection, migrants and migration etc.

Today, 28.05.2011, at Casa Academiei will take place the second network meeting of the Romanian Network.

Gathering of Network‘s Members

National Network: 
Romania

Members of the Romanian Network met on the 14th of November in Bucharest. The discussion focused on the Anna Lindh Call for Proposals, and on the Network internal rules and regulations. During the meeting, members discussed the possibility of organising workshops on project proposals writing. In addition, the Network will aim at the next period to identify sources of financing for projects on integration of migrants.

Furthermore, members highlighted the importance of organizing seminars, workshops and contests on sustainable development and similar issues which have direct impact on everyday life. It was also decided to organise a conference to disseminate the results of the common operations and activities developed during the year, as well as the best practices to share knowledge within the Network.
