ALF has recently Launched Component One for Network Coordination and Services of the Network Strategic Development Scheme (NSDS) Step 5.

The overall Objectiveof Component One of the NSDS Step 5 is to foster the coordination, mobilisation and development of the ALF National Network. The Head of Network will be in charge of delivering general services and other specific services in relation to Network meetings, capacity building, rules, accountability, and visibility.

The NSDS Step 5 will have a maximum duration of 16 months, from 1 March 2012 to 30 June 2013 with an overall financial envelope of 720,000 Euros, financed by the European Union.

The NSDS is a mechanism designed by the Foundation to support the Networks in their mission by delegating to HoNs/Coordinators and/or member organisations the provision of services to the Network members, and the implementation of the ALF programme at sub-regional, national and local level.

Since the end of 2007, the NSDS has been contributing to consolidating the emergence of a permanent support desk inside the National Networks, and the development of new partnerships among members of the same Network. Through the Scheme, synergies and common strategies among the most active members of the same Network, or even among National Networks which are working in the same thematic area, have emerged.
