Israel is home to a diverse group of migrants including refugees from Africa, foreign workers and new immigrants from around the world. The cultural, social and political implications of migration in Israel raise a number of issues. These issues can be expressed through art in various ways and in return provide a meaningful manner in which to create awareness about migration in Israel.

The Israeli Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation is organizing a photography competition open to young artists (ages 18-35).

Contestants are requested to send up to 3 photos in JPEG format (files no larger than 5 MB) to photo.contest.migration@gmail.com along with their full name, age, contact information, and a short description (up to 150 words) on how their work reflects the issue of migration in Israel.

A panel of judges will select a number of photographs that will be exhibited as part of a conference on migration in Israel at Tel Aviv University in May 2011. Artists selected to showcase their work at the exhibition will be notified in April, 2011 and will print their photographs at their own expense. The winners will be announced and awarded at the conference

Prizes:
First place: 1,500 NIS
Second and third place: 1,000 NIS

ישראל היא בית למהגרים מארצות רבות ברחבי העולם, בהם פליטים מאפריקה, עובדים זרים ועולים חדשים. להגירה היבטים תרבותיים, חברתיים ופוליטיים רבים. היבטים אלו באים לידי ביטוי בשדה האמנות במגוון אופנים, ובאותו זמן מעניקים להגירה שלל משמעויות.

התחרות פתוחה לצלמים צעירים בני 18—35. יש לשלוח עד שלושה תצלומים לכתובת הדוא"ל photo.contest.migration@gmail.com, בצירוף שם מלא, גיל ופרטי קשר. כמו כן יש לצרף תיאור קצר (עד 150 מילים) המסביר כיצד התצלום קשור לנושא ההגירה בישראל.

על התצלומים להיות דיגיטליים, בפורמט JPEG. גודלו המרבי של כל קובץ צריך להיות 5 MB; התצלומים המוגשים חייבים להיות מקוריים; לא יתקבלו תצלומים שזכו בתחרות צילום אחרת. הצלמים המשתתפים בתערוכה יפתחו ויגדילו את התצלומים הנבחרים על גבי קאפה על חשבונם.

התצלומים הנבחרים על ידי חבר שופטים יוצגו בתערוכה במאי 2011, במקביל לקיומו של כנס בנושא ההגירה שיתקיים באוניברסיטת ת"א. במהלך הכינוס יוכרז על התצלומים הזוכים ויוענקו פרסים.
