Institute of International Relations

The Head of Anna Lindh National Network in the Czech republic is the Institute of International Relations, which works in the fields of international political, security and economic relations. At the same time, the Institute provides for the international communication and dissemination of knowledge acquired by Czech researchers and experts. The research of the Institute covers the Balkans, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and North Africa as well as the Sub-Saharan Africa, while these areas are studied mainly in relation to the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy.

To date, the Czech network consists of 34 members. Most of these institutions work in the areas of youth, international relations, research and museology.

Winner of Euro-Med Award in Prague

At the end of April Czech network of ALF have the great opportunity to welcome in Prague winners of Euro-Mediterrannean award 2009 – Combatants for Peace. It was for us great honor not only because the award but at the first place because the activity of this organization. Middle East theme is very important not only for our network but also for Czech audience and public and we are glad to be able to introduce Combatants to our members and public. We welcomed two representatives of CfP – Mr. Avi Yehouda and Mr. Suleiman Khatib.

Czech network of Anna Lindh supporting the peace and dialogue between cultures

Až na osm tisíc lidí se v úterý v podvečer sešlo na Václavském náměstí v Praze, aby svou účastí a především zpěvem podpořili myšlenky Světového pochodu za mír a nenásilí, jehož desetičlenná delegace je právě v těchto dnech v Praze. V rámci úterní MÍRparty tak vyvrcholilo několikaměsíční snažení organizátorů české části pochodu složených ze spektra neziskových organizací. Delegace pochodu bude ve své cestě ve středu pokračovat směrem do Budapešti.

The Senate Committee for foreign affairs, security and defense of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the Council for International Affairs (organization in application process for ALF membership) organized the conference on the theme of contribution of Milan Kundera and his literature for understanding European status.

One of our most important members had the pleasure to organize one of the most important activity in the field of international relations of this year. For Geneva Accords was this time for first to be up-dated since their creation in 2003. Prague had that big pleasure to be the first place where these annexes were presented. The presentation and discussion were focused on international presence in the region.

Open discussion of Association for International Affairs: How and why to help to Afghanistan?

Association for International Affairs in cooperation with Czech Railways arrange touring exhibition of photos from Afghanistan. In each city is the exhibition accompanied by open public discussion on the theme: 'How and why to help to Afghanistan?' As first was the exhibition and discussion launched in Prague in Governmental Room on Capital Railstation.
