The Prize

Annual winners of the Mediterranean Journalist Award receive their official trophies at an international awarding ceremony which brings together representatives of the media sector, civil society and political decision-makers, in addition to receiving their individual cash prize of 5000 Euros.

The winners are also involved in a high profile reporting tour within the Mediterranean region, organized by the Anna Lindh Foundation with the aim of covering a specific issue related to cultural diversity. Winning journalistic works will be edited in a printed publication and disseminated to the Foundation’s region-wide network of over two thousand civil society organizations, as well as published on partner websites.

In addition to the five annual award winners, the organizers will also attribute honorable mentions in each category for journalists who participate in the competition. The persons receiving a Honorable Mention will be registered as an ambassador for media work across Mediterranean region, with the opportunity to play a leading role in activities, events and advocacy work taking place at the regional and international level.
