The Head of the Anna Lindh Foundation Portuguese Network, represented by Multiculti - Culturas do Mediterrâneo and Campo Arqueológico de Mértola, announced today the Network Common Operation “New Cultures, New Futures”.

The operation is organised in the framework of the Foundation’s Network Strategic Development Scheme and will take place during the first semester of 2010 in different places, from north to south of Portugal.

The purpose of the project 'New Cultures, New Futures' is to engender a debate and conversation dynamics with the participation of special guests, local communities and all those who are interested in the new cultures that constitute a part of the Portuguese society.

The project will aim to tackle the social and cultural impact of those new cultures, focusing on the living of young people and women immigrants and to enhance the integration of foreign communities from Mediterranean origins within the Portuguese society.

The first event of the project will take place from 29 to 31 January, in Tondela and will consist in the projection of a documentary film about immigrants.
