The Arab Fund for Arts & Culture is a private independent Arab initiative dedicated to empowering the Arab contemporary narrative through strategic cultural philanthropy.
It seeks to deliver a sustainable funding mechanism for individuals and organizations in the fields of film making, performing, visual arts, literature, research, training and capacities building, while simultaneously facilitating cultural exchanges across the Arab region.
The Arab Fund for Arts & Culture aims at stimulating and supporting artistic creativity and freedom of cultural expression in the Arab World.

These are the main goals:
• Increase and Enhance Cultural Production and Research.
• Support Capacities building and training.
• Stimulate cultural Exchange and Collaboration Across the Arab Region.
• Deliver a Sustainable Source of Funding for Independent Art Work .
• Identify and Develop Distribution Channels for Arab Arts .

Funding Opportunities

AFAC invites individuals, NGOs, cultural and educational organizations, governmental bodies and private companies working in culture and arts in the Arab World to send in project proposals in the fields of:

• Independent Filmmaking
• Performing Arts
• Visual Arts
• Literature
• Research
• Capacity Building and Training
• Regional Cultural Events and Regional Exchange

The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture welcomes project proposals for 2009 starting April 1st until August 31st 2009.
