LEBANESE CIVIL SOCIETY PROMOTES DIALOGUE THROUGH ARTS

Within the framework of the Networks Strategic Development Scheme, and under the patronage of the Lebanese minister of culture, the Anna Lindh Lebanese Network, represented by nine of its members in addition to the Head of Network, organized the cultural event “Arts in Dialogue” on 31October 2009.

• During the event, the nine network members contributed with their own art work including theatrical plays, puppet shows, paintings and photo exhibitions, dancing, musicals, documentaries, storytelling for children and poetry reading

• The event aimed at addressing the multi-interests of a large audience of different age During her opening speech the representative of the Head of Network, Mrs. Salwa Saniora Baassiri, underscored the mission of Anna Lindh Foundation in bringing people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity

• The Common Action succeeded in mobilising the Lebanese civil society actors in favor of diversity, living together and dialogue which are promoted by the Anna Lindh Foundation as sources for mutual enrichment and development; to reinforce a sense of belonging among the network members and to enhance synergies of cooperation.

• In addition it triggered the enthusiasm of the members, to adopt the initiative of Common Action as an annual ritual
