Farah El Bahr Serves the Youth of Alexandria

The ‘Farah El Bahr’ Festival is a great artistic and cultural occasion on the international level and is totally remote from any politics or political issues. The Festival seeks to provide an opportunity for the people of Alexandria to know about the cultures and arts of other Mediterranean people; and whoever attacks or criticizes this event organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) in collaboration with the Egyptian civil society, shows lack of knowledge about the real objective of this Festival.

The participation in Farah El Bahr Festival 2010 is from Egypt, Greece, Germany, UK, Spain, Belgium, and France. Any other false information aims at causing damage and do harm to the Festival, which in fact serves the Egyptian Youth and shows its pride in belonging to the Mediterranean Region.

Indeed, we are very proud to have the headquarters of the Anna Lindh Foundation here in Egypt, here in Alexandria: offering Egyptian people, and the youth in particular, opportunities to meet other people face-to-face across Europe and the Mediterranean, get to know them, and create common projects together

فرح البحر يخدم شباب الإسكندرية

بيان السفير علي ماهر عن احتفالية فرح البحر

إن احتفالية "فرح البحر" مناسبة رائعة فنية وثقافية على مستوى دولي وبعيد كل البعد عن السياسة والقضايا السياسية ويهدف إلى إتاحة الفرصة لأهل الإسكندرية للاطلاع على ثقافات وفنون شعوب أخرى في البحر المتوسط ، وان من يهاجم وينتقد هذه المناسبة التي تنظمها مؤسسة اناليند بالتعاون مع منظمات المجتمع المدني المصري لا يفهم المغزى الحقيقي لهذه الاحتفالية.

وإن المشاركة في فرح البحر 2010 تأتي من مصر واليونان وألمانيا وبريطانيا واسبانيا وبلجيكا وفرنسا و أي معلومة خاطئة تهدف إلى التخريب والنيل من الاحتفال الذييخدم الشباب المصري ويبرز اعتزازه بالانتماء لمنطقة البحر المتوسط.

و إننا لفخورين أن لدينا مقر مؤسسة أنا ليند هنا في مصر و في الإسكندرية لإعطاء فرص للشعب المصري و الشباب بالتحديد للتعرف وجه إلي وجه مع شعوب أخري من أوروبا و المتوسط و العمل معا علي مشاريع مشتركة.
