Swedish NGO Foundation for Human Rights

Organisation Type:
International, Private and Non-governmental organization
Thème:
Human Rights and Democracy

The Swedish NGO Foundation for Human Rights was set up in 1991. Its principal is the Swedish study organisation Sensus.
The work of the Foundation is intended to supplement the activities of these principals. It also aims to supplement the programmes of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, in the field of human rights and democracy.
This means cooperation with, and funding of local human rights organisations in Africa and Latin America which play a strategic role in their countries’ democratic development. The Foundation also aims to increase the knowledge of human rights in Sweden. This is done through programmes of information and education and by influencing public opinion.
