Research-based Art//Art-based research aims at initiating a long-term cooperation among art institutions in Europe and the Middle East focused on the artistic research process including the joint concept of a post-graduate research program for young artists from Beirut, Ramallah, Istanbul, Kiel, Berlin, Belfast and Lisbon.

In a kick-off meeting in Lisbon, the common needs and goals of all involved partners will be discussed, followed by two phases of research-residencies of young artists chosen by the partners. Their focus will be on the perception and artistic treatment of the location's social and political contexts. Experiences and results will be exchanged during two symposia taking place in Beirut and Belfast, thus adjusting the program.
