Anna Lindh Foundation gives voice to civil society in Palestine

The Anna Lindh Foundation will be facilitating on the 1st of November a live video conference and debate between representatives of civil society organisations in Gaza and the EuroMed Civil Forum in Marseille. This initiative, supported by the Foundation, aims to offer a testimony of problems in Gaza to the participants in the Civil Forum; to address concrete recommendations to the Euromed Ministerial Conference to be held on 3 and 4 November, 2008 under the French Presidency of the European Union, as well as to suggest proposals for the Foundation on the possibility of implementing actions in Gaza and with Gaza.

The Euro-Mediterranean Civil Forum is a meeting point existing since 1995 and a space of dialogue for Euromed civil society stakeholders: thematic, regional and sub-regional networks, NGOs, local and national platforms, from more than 40 countries.
It constitutes a highly important occasion to share information and ideas, and discuss propositions for action in the sectors of interest to the Euromed Partnership. It is an excellent illustration of civil society’s capacity of self organization and vitality.
The event was coordinated by Fondation René Seydoux, Head of the French Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
