Sharing cultural differences, experiencing coexistence in Syria, learning about living in inter-religious and intercultural environments, these are the main objectives of the seminar "Go East, Go Syria" organized by the "Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch & all the East" from 14 to 17 August 2008 in Damascus.
The seminar will gather young participants from Syria but also from European countries, as well as trainers and experts in the field of intercultural commnication and intercultural dialogue. Participants will represent a variety of religous, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
During 4 days, participants will learn and understand the local reality through the experiences of the local youth workers/leaders and the contact of the organisations working in this area, which will help them to build a common strategy based on the participants experiences. In addition the participants will have the opportunity to express their ideas or projects that can be realised after the seminar.
"Go East, Go Syria" is one of the many hundreds of projects organized in 2008 throughout the Euromed region, in the framework of the "1001 Actions for Dialogue" campaign, launched by the Anna Lindh Foundation to celebrate the year 2008, European year for intercultural dialogue.
