The Egyptian Network shares its vision

More than 25 members of the Egyptian Network participated in the eighth meeting at the Conference Centre, Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This is the first network meeting organized by the Egyptian Head of Network, Alex-Med Research Centre, in the framework of the Network Strategic Development Scheme.

During the meeting, the members discussed a number of important topics such as the evaluation and assessment of the first operational phase of the Anna Lindh Foundation in addition to sharing ideas and visions about the next operational phase of the Foundation. They also tackled the main obstacles facing NGOs in Egypt and the Foundation’s role in the future which should have a more proactive presence in the Host Country.

Moreover, the participants were engaged in a simulation workshop about the future of the Foundation. Their main expectations of the coming phase include: creating long-term projects and programmes; working more on inter-religious dialogue; more focus on advocacy projects; introducing the Euro-Med unity concept in our educational system such as teaching Euro-Med History and Heritage; organizing a Euro-Med Cinema Festival and a Euro-Med Vision Music Competition.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian National Network is the second biggest network in the South. Last but not least, the Head of Egyptian Network is organizing a capacity building training on project proposal writing in Cairo 21 – 23 October 2008.
