Date:
19 Oct 2008 - 26 Oct 2008

From 19 to 26 October 2008, the Anna Lindh Foundation will organize in Budapest a training course for young activists in the field of human rights education and conflict resolution. If you are between 18 and 30 years old, involved with intercultural dialogue and/or human rights education and interested in the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, then apply for the training before 10 September 2008.

The Euro-Med training course for multipliers active in Human Rights Education and Conflict Resolution in the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation context is coorganized by the Anna Lindh Foundation, the European Youth Centre of Budapest and the Council of Europe.

In line with previous activities of the Foundation to develop tools and train young multipliers (aged 18-30) of the Euro-Mediterranean region to better deal with conflict situations, the six days training course will associate various components such as human rights education, skills for intercultural dialogue and tools for conflict resolution through cultural cooperation. The course is tailored to meet the multiple and complex needs reported by youth workers active in the Euro-Mediterranean area. Held in the European Youth Centre of Budapest and in cooperation with the Council of Europe, known for its experience and capacities, the course also aims at allowing a space for secured and creative discussion between the participants and the trainers.

A handbook and a training kit presenting good practices and tools for handling these thematic issues will be launched during the training and spread among the networks.

This activity constitutes one more step in paving the way to forming a pool of resources and trainers active in the Euro-Med region as ambassadors and multipliers for peace and co-development.
