The Anna Lindh Exchange

The Anna Lindh Exchange in Tunisia is a region-wide meeting of civil society players acting for democracy and freedoms with an intercultural perspective.

Gathering between 150 and 200 participants from all over the Euro-Med region who work in the fields of Artistic creation,  Media and Social Networks,  Civil society development and Resources for Citizenship, the event will be a great opportunity for participants to learn from each other, exchange experiences, best practices and project ideas as well as to build partnerships .

Participants will also debate about the major challenges which the EuroMed societies are facing in terms of promoting citizenship and intercultural dialogue, especially in contexts of social change and democratic transition.

Overall objective

The overall objective of the Anna Lindh Exchange is to bring cultural and media operators, non-governmental organizations and young activists from the Euromed region together to exchange experiences and debate about the major challenges which the EuroMed societies are facing in terms of citizenship and intercultural dialogue,especially those engaged in social change and democratic transition.

Specific objectives  

-   To foster debate and facilitate exchange, contact-making and partnership among civil society partners acting in the field of citizenship, democracy, human rights and participation through an intercultural approach;

-   To offer tools and resources for the empowerment of civil society with respect to the relationship between dialogue and the above mentioned fields;

-   To encourage sustained interaction and mutual support between citizens from all participating countries and contribute to spread awareness about intercultural citizenship.   

 Representatives of civil society organisations and speakers from different fields from the whole Euro-Med region will have a space for reflection, sharing proposals for action and best practices of Euro-Mediterranean institutions and associations acting in the region as well as formulating recommendations and enhancing cooperation between the North and the South.

The Anna Lindh Exchange will offer the following spaces:

• Plenary Sessions,
• Debate Workshops,
• Presentation of Best Practices and Project Ideas,
• Resources for Action and
• Room for informal exchange.
