The Palestinain National Commission for UNESCO was funded in 1985 with the missions to contribute to building the infrastructure of the education, cultural and scientific instructions, to prepare and rehabilitate the Palestinian human educationally, culturally and scientifically as well as to generalize communicating knowledge and experiences so that Palestinian Institutions can go along with the development processes. The PNCECS is the Head of the Palestinian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation
To date, the Palestinian network consists of around 125 organisations. Most of these institutions work in the areas of youth, education, arts and human rights. Members are established in West Bank as well as in Gaza Strip.
The Anna Lindh Foundation has funded projects involving 29 Palestinian members.
