"Groupement d'Études et de Recherches sur la Méditerranée" (GERM), is a non profit scientific organisation. Its objective is to contribute to a better understanding of political, economical, social and cultural realities of the Mediterranean; to act as a framework for research and critical thinking on the evolutions of Mediterranean societies; cooperate with other organisations on the national and international level working with similar goals. The GERM tries to stay in the same line, avoiding dispersion, unnecessary publicity and preserving an ethical and independent approach, as this is essential in any critical thinking work on complex issues related to strategies and social transitions.

To date, the Moroccan Network includes 34 organisations. Most of them work in the areas of youth, education, human rights, democracy and gender issues.
